I use lots of antibacterial wipes and sprays around our home and encourage my children to use an antibacterial handwash too.

Making sure hands are always washed as soon as we get in and before eating. Plus using antibacterial cleaning products on kitchen and bathroom surfaces.

I make sure I don't protect them too much due to the need for an immune system, but I do make sure surfaces are clean and crockery and cutlery are suitably washed!

I know my little boy gets mucky from time to time but he is very good with hygiene and washes his hands thoroughly after going to the toilet & before eating. This would be great for our new baby due in June xx

I am particular about my hands and food surfaces and cooking etc but I do think you can go too far. We all need to come into contact with a little dirt to build up immunity.

I don't know what I would do without antiseptic sprays. I spray all shared surfaces like light switches, door handles and TV remotes. I also use Zoflora or similar in the fabric conditioner drawer of my washing machine. Educating the children about hand hygeine is important too.

When my children were small I used Milton to sterilise feeding utensils and still do to clean stained teapots etc. I'm quite fussy about cleanliness in the kitchen and bathrooms to avoid illness but like to see the children get muddy and relax when playing in he garden and beach.

Iv always made sure my children can protect themselves. From as soon as they were able to understand i would make sure they knew it was important to wash hands before meals, after the toilet and after touching pets
