We have been Halloween pillaging this morning in our local town of Reigate. It has become an annual event to support the fantastic charity Loveworks who work with vulnerable people in the local community from the hungry to the elderly. The event is simple. You get dressed up in your spookiest Halloween garb and take along donations for the Loveworks food bank. In exchange you get a pillaging bag which you fill with sweets from the shops displaying black and orange balloons outside. Our two little witches donated the ingredients for a tuna pasta bake: dried pasta bows, tinned tuna, tinned sweetcorn and a white sauce packet mix. In exchange they filled their bags to the brim with sweet treats. We avoided Reigate Martial Arts Stairway of Terror this year as Little E is still rather traumatised by the experience last year! Little I was hilarious getting super exited every time she spotted some balloons scoffing her sweets between shops like she thought they were to going to disappear! The highlight for Husband and I had to be the Monty Bojangles truffle which we quickly confiscated from the kids buckets, for safety reasons of course... Such a great community activity for a great cause. We can't wait to do it all again next year.

Last week was my birthday and I turned the grand old age of 35. That is definitely the next age bracket on surveys! I wasn't particularly looking forward it as who really wants to celebrate another year creeping towards 40... So I gave myself a week off from everything, enjoyed my birthday with the girls and then went away at the weekend with Husband. Of course 35 feels no different to 34 and I did rather enjoy myself and was spoilt by everyone. Let's just hope my next birthday doesn't come around as fast next time! linking up to #twinklytuesday
I don't wear a huge amount of make up and since having the kids my make up routine consists of whatever I can do in under a minute with a 2yr old hanging off my arm.
I've been trialling a new redness concealer from ReCover cosmetics which claims to neutralise skin tone, eliminating those annoying red patches with only a thin layer of concealer. It has been develops by professional make up artist Annabel Jardella and comes in six different shades from very light to dark tan.

Our latest Baker Ross Blogger Network pack has arrived and we are very excited by the Halloween craft kits included. Halloween is one of our favourite holidays, Little E loves all things spooky and last year we really went to town decorating the house, dressing up and welcoming trick or treaters. One of the highlights of last year was making lots of spooky craft kits and this year's assortment looks even better.
I'm coveting new kitchens at the moment. We had our 1970's kitchen replaced with a shiny new one just before our first child, Little E, was born 6 years ago and not only is it starting to look a little shabby round the edges, it is also not as practical as it was before we became a family. Wine bottle rack at floor level = bad idea with a 2yr old... At 3Style Kitchens they design kitchens based around your individual lifestyle. Whether you are a budding chef, entertainer, family or busy couple they know what elements you need to make the kitchen perfect regardless of size. Ideal if you are about to have your first baby as they will steer you clear of wine rack faux pas and recommend a design which is futureproof.
Mum and I spent a girly day together this weekend and there was one thing we simply had to see; the new Bridget Jones film. I was particularly excited because Patrick Dempsey (also known as McDreamy to all Grey's Anatomy fans) is in this film as Bridget's new love interest, lucky girl.
The nation’s favourite bear Pudsey is bringing you a very special DVD compilation featuring 15 episodes from CBeebies’ best loved shows, providing over 3 hours of top entertainment in Pudsey and Friends, released by Abbey Home Media on Monday 10th October, raising valuable funds for this year’s BBC Children in Need appeal.
I have a bit on an obsession with pyjamas. Husband thinks I'm odd but I love nothing more than wearing a clean pair of pyjamas every night, no matter what the weather. It can be scorching but I'll still be clothed neck to toe in my comfy pyjamas. And let's not even mention the amount of washing I do because I go through seven pairs a week....
Because of this I am constantly searching for the perfect nightwear. I'm fed up with cheap pyjamas which shrink in the wash and slowly get shorter and shorter until they are cropped but bizarrely seem to get wider and wider. I flatly refuse to wear anything except 100% cotton so my skin can breathe even on the hottest nights. I've worked my way through all the high street brands but recently I have come across David Nieper and my quest for the perfect pyjamas could finally be over. |
