The summer weather may have come to an abrupt end but we have had so much fun this month it is hard to remember it all! This month's Center Parcs Tots 100 blogger challenge is to record our summer memories and their blog has loads of great ideas on how to keep special moments alive way past the holidays. My favourite tip is to get the kids to paint or draw their favourite summer memory - great to find out what sticks out for them amongst all the fun plus they get to be creative and arty. I asked Little E what her favourite memory of the summer was she very quickly decided on our boat trip to France. Good choice as we had a lovely day sailing across to visit Nanny Ma and Pa as they renovate the family barn. The next step was for Little E to create some artwork to capture the voyage. I was open minded as to what she'd draw but she did a pretty amazing job! You can see the ferry on the sea with the 4 of us onboard and the cars all lined up in the bottom of the ship. I esspecially like that we are levitating in the boat! This is one of the first pictures she has drawn which actually depict a recognisable scene. Definitely frameworthy. Here are some photos of our little adventure (Little I's first time at sea!) This is my entry to the Center Parcs and Tots100 August challenge. If I’m chosen, I would like to visit Elveden Forest. P is for penguins... My Sister-in-law is obsessed with penguins and bought Little I these cute penguin slippers. Too cute! Linking up to The Alphabet Photography Project at podcastdove.com Somehow Little E has made it to 3.5yrs without the need to be fixed at A&E. We knew we was coming at some point and this week it did... A fall off the dining room chair and a dash to A&E later resulted in some glue and steri strips to fix the split chin. She seemed to enjoy it a little too much and keeps telling us she needs to go back to the hospital... We are hoping that wish won't come true anytime soon! Linking up with #wickedwednesdays with #wickedwednesdays brummymummyof2.co.uk This week Little I had her barium X-ray to check if she has a hiatus hernia. It was beyond traumatic. She completely freaked out as soon as she was put in the machine and that was before I tried to get her to drink the barium solution... Here she is looking thoroughly sorry for herself after the ordeal. There have been loads of positives this week though. Sitting up is easy peasy now and she reaches her arms out for you to pick her up or to be passed over. My Gran was made up when she reached out to her. Balls are the best thing ever. She loves them, esspecially the new one which rolls around by itself! Ok, maybe something better than balls... Food! Lots of finger food adventures this week. Our favourite was the spaghetti! Not so keen on brocolli... But French beans are great fun! Linking up with #MMWBH at superbusymum.net #sharewithme at letstalkmommy.com And the less said about sleep the better. She is up every couple of hours in the night wailing and comfort feeding. Teeth perhaps? My next Chicco Tested For a Happiness blogger package has arrived with some fantastic products for Little I to put to the test. The delivery included two toys from the Baby Senses range designed to help baby's sensory development. We received the seal and giraffe rattle teethers. Suitable from 3mths, the toys are very colourful with appealing faces. This is key for engaging babies and encouraging interaction. The toys are very well made with smooth edges and are quite light making them idea for tiny hands. Over the past couple of weeks Little I has been testing the rattles. The seal has a jelly tail which can be put in the fridge to soothe teething gums. This has been a big hit with Little I who is starting to cut her first teeth and most of the time she can be found chewing the tail. The handle on this rattle is thin making it very easy for baby to grasp. The rattly balls are actually pretty quiet so it is the perfect toy for taking to restaurants. The giraffe is little heavier and the large head makes it a bit top heavy so it has taken her slightly longer to learn how to manoeuvre it but I can tell it has really helped her special awareness as she no longer bonks herself on the head with it! There are lots of things to chew on which is great and she particularly loves getting one of the nobbly bits into her mouth. She hasn't yet mastered spinning his head around to hear the sound but that is a new surprise to discover as she gets older and develops her coordination. Now she is sitting up we have been placing her toys in a semi circle in front of her so she can pick and choose what she plays with. She gravitates towards these rattles everything and gets annoyed if she can't reach them. Little I definitely recommends these rattles! A stationary car I should add... Linking up with #wickedwednesdays with #wickedwednesdays brummymummyof2.co.uk O is for owls... Sharing some snaps from the birds of prey show at Hobbledown. We were very close to the action and the birds were swooping down over our heads. Little E was mesmerised by them and in particular Honey the owl. Linking up to The Alphabet Photography Project at podcastdove.com and #letkidsbekids at letkidsbekids.co.uk 6.months.old. Waaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!! Where did that go! I can't believe you are at your half birthday. You have changed so much these past few weeks and I want you to stop now and stay this size forever. Please. Still a poorly, coughing baby but the broken sleep doesn't seem to be affecting our little lady (I wish I could say the same for Mummy...) This week Little I has really mastered the sequence roll. She rolls around the room on turbo speed until a piece of furniture halts her in her tracks. We blink and she has disappeared only to be found in a corner or half under the sofa. Little E has started recovering her and bringing her back to the playmat in a variety of odd fashions. She is so strong on her arms now and pushes herself right up, often one handed. Little E has been watching how we wind Little I and had a go herself this week. This is how I found them when I popped back in from the kitchen. Little I looked quite happy with the back rub... One of my favourite moments of the week was when she had enough of waiting for me to get ready, grabbed a toy, stuck it over her face and went to sleep on my bed! And the most impressive feat this week... Sitting up! Still a little wobbly but doing so well and loving it! I love it when babies sleep so relaxed, all stretched out in their cot. Little I is not going to fit in her bedside cot much longer!
