TV Shows I'm Watching... August 2018

Here's my latest roundup of what I'm watching this month. This month we've been on holiday to Croatia but due to the magic of WIFI I was able to catch a few episodes of my latest Netflix shows by the pool.

American Crime Story: The People VS OJ Simpson -  Netflix

Husband and I started this docudrama by accident and were completely hooked immediately. I can vaguely remember the OJ trial but I was a teenager at the time so didn't pay it much attention. We couldn't believe how the USA was hooked by this trial and the complete 50/50 innocent/guilty split of the country - mainly by skin tone. The cast was awesome - Cuba Gooding JR and John Travolta were exceptional. And now I finally understand how the Kardashians became famous! Who would have thought it all stemmed back to the OJ trial! We actually watched the final episode on the plane on the way to Croatia and even though we knew the verdict we were still holding our breaths! Fantastic. I can't wait to see the next in the series.

How To Get Away With Murder (Series 3) - Netflix

I know, I know. I said last month I was going to give up on this but I pushed through. Was it worth it? Not really. After they killed off one of the main characters I had to see who did it. It descended into madness and it is completely unbelievable. If they make another series I won't bother watching.

Glitch (Series 1 & 2) - Netflix

Set in Australia, this series involves the mysterious return of a bunch of dead people. Crawling from their muddy graves in perfect health, there appears to be no explanation for why these unrelated people have all risen on the same night and how. I've seen quite a few series with this premise, in particular the French series The Returned, but I am enjoying the intrigued as to why these people have come back to life and the potential link with local pharmaceutical firm.

Have you seen these shows? What did you think?

Oo I'm always on the look out for new tv series to watch! We've just finished The Bodyguard, Killing Eve and Power, so maybe we'll start one of these :)

TV's very dark at the moment, isn't it! I've just got over watching The Handmaid's Tale so I don't know if I can plunge straight into another uber-demanding drama! I did like The Returned, though, so I might give Glitch a go. We've been working our way through The Good Place as a bit of light relief in the meantime - got to love Ted Danson!

I haven't watched any of these series. We are having a bit of a TV lull here as my husband has an xbox now.

I really loved the first season of HTGAWM but have to concede that the other seasons do have their lot of mediocre episodes.
I still watch it and enjoy some twists. Plus I find Viola Davis acting on point!

I have seen OJ and Glitch series 1. I was hooked with OJ so interesting. I really need to get back into Glitch though. Have you seen the Staircase? I finished that yesterday, that's another documentary that will suck you in!

We started watching the OJ thing when it was being shown on TV but never made it to the end, didn’t realise it was on Netflix now. Not heard of the other two, there’s so much good stuff on Netflix at the moment xx

I hadn't heard of any of those. We are currently watching RuPaul's Drag Race Season 10 on Netflix.

I loved the OJ docu-drama. Was so well played by everyone. I can vaughly remember it on TV when the trial was happening so it was good to watch this adaptation.
