TV Shows I'm Watching... July 2018

It's safe to say I'm a bit of a box set addict. I like nothing more than a good thriller or drama, full of twists and turns. Here's a run down of the shows I'm currently watching...

The Handmaid's Tale (Series 2) - Channel 4

I didn't think it could get any better than series 1. I was wrong. This show just keeps on getting darker and better. Series 1 was based on the Margaret Atwood novel and followed the events in the Republic of Gilead, the former USA, which is now a militarised dictatorship run by men who have stripped all women of their rights, including reading and writing, and given them very specific roles echoing a very warped version of the Old Testament. One of those roles is the Handmaid, given to any fertile women who is a lesbian, had a child outside of marriage or a child with a divorced man. In an attempt to reverse sweeping infertility, Handmaids are forced to copulate with high ranking officers during 'The Ceremony' while their wives watch. Series 2 continues to follow June/Offred's story and I'm excited to hear a 3rd series has been confirmed.

Sound awful right? What makes this so powerful is if you squint your eyes slightly and you can imagine this actually happening...

How To Get Away With Murder (Series 2) - Netflix

This show revolves around high profile criminal defense attorney Annalise Keating who is also a professor. She picks 5 of her students to intern for her and they all get caught up in a murder, details of which slowly unravel in a series of flashbacks until past and present collide.

With Grey's Anatomy god Shonda Rhimes at the helm I had very high hopes and while series 1 was quite gripping with storyline which twisted and turned, series 2 has taken it into the realms of madness. I'm really struggling to find it believable at all. Plus I don't like any of the characters because I can't relate to any of them at all. I'll push on but I'm not sure I'll venture into series 3.

The Good Fight (Series 1) - Amazon Prime Video

As a massive fan of The Good Wife I was super excited to find a spin off series on my Prime Video acccount. The Good Fight centering round one of my favourite characters from the original series, actually the best character, Diane. Loads of the original cast feature and I can honestly say it is as good, if not better. I'm absolutely loving it!

You need to watch The Good Wife first to properly enjoy this show though, so make sure you start there.

The 100 (Series 5) - E4

Based on the book by Kaz Morgan, The 100 is set 97 years after the world is destroyed by atomic war. The only survivors are the people orbiting the earth in the various space stations who joined together to create a community. But life on 'The Ark' is becoming unsustainable and in desperation they sent 100 juvenile prisoners back down to Earth to see if it is habitable again.

I really loved the first 2 seasons of The 100, but I'm loosing interest a little now. What started as such a brilliant concept has now fallen foul to the teenage TV genre and the latest series is pushing things beyond ridiculous. I'm hoping it'll settle down a bit as I like the main characters.

Have you watched any of these shows? What are you currently watching?

I really want to watch The Handmaid's Tale but I have read about it and seen clips and it sounds so dark.
I have watched The 100 from the begging and I get what you mean. This series has not been great. I did enjoy last weeks episode when we found out why Octavia is like she is now! x

I quite like the sound of the Getting Away With Murder series. And I've heard great things about The Handmaid's Tale but haven't seen series 1 yet. We're almost finished The Staircase real-life documentary.

I was in need of some new inspiration for good TV shows, so thank you. I studied the handmaid's tale at A Level so think i'll enjoy revisiting the story for the tv adaptation.

This spiritual caster known as Lord Krish is really great in helping you get your ex back and making your infertility cured. I am happy to be one of the people to publish about him on the internet as a trusted and reliable spell caster. I am Lorraine Davis from Michigan, USA. Problems began to happen in my marriage after the 4th year of marriage and my husband began to cheat and sleep with other women because I was infertile and was not able to bear him a child. I contacted Lord Krish after reading comments on google and YouTube about how he has been helping people and contacted his email: [email protected] to communicate with him and we spoke on Whats-App too. It's been more than a year now and I am happy to write about my encounter with him. Within 2 days of contact, my husband came home and apologized to me for his behavior and pleaded with me to forgive him. Before I knew it, I received the natural fertility herbal cure from the UPS which he sent to me and I became fertile. I conceived and gave birth to twin girls which made me very happy. As a result, my husband throughout my trimester periods, loved me even more. How grateful I am to be happy in my relationship. Contact Lord Krish through email at [email protected] if you are passing through any problem to help you and you will be glad you did
