My weight has always fluctuated and whenever my focus slips away from my eating habits I tend to put on weight. I’ve been really busy over the last few months and my diet has suffered meaning I need to lose about a stone to comfortably fit back into my summer wardrobe. The Dietbon diet meals delivery service does all the thinking for you, delivering balanced meal plans which should help you lose up to 2lb per week.

Sounds like a really good idea when you are a bit too busy to properly concentrate on healthy eating, but does it work?

The Dietbon Plan

The Dietbon diet plan concept is simple. All your meals (breakfast, lunch, a snack and dinner) are delivered directly to your home for 6 out of 7 days. All you need to add is milk, yogurt and fresh veg. On the 7th day you have a ‘free day’ which allows you to continue to have a social life. But you need to still be mindful of what you are eating rather than treating it as a free for all day.

The Dietbon meals use 100% natural ingredients with no additives, preservatives or artificial colourings. The meals are also GM, artificial sweetener and palm oil free.

You get to choose which meals you are sent from over 50 main meals (lunch and dinner) plus 7 breakfast options, 7 snack options and 7 dessert options. So you have loads of choice and the Dietbon guide explains exactly how to balance the meals across your day.

Each meal is portion and calorie controlled so you don’t have to worry about measuring and weighing. They are stable at room temperature so easy to store, and to reheat you simply peel back the lid and microwave for 2minutes.

In addition to the Dietbon food you are sent you add 2 portions of fresh fruit, 1 portion of raw vegetables, a yogurt and glass of milk to your daily plan. You can also add green veg to the meals if you still feel hungry.

For your 7th day the Dietbon guide suggests loads of recipes to help you stay within the recommended portion and daily calorie count. If you are eating out

I was also sent a 28day tea tox. As a big fan of herbal teas there were a lovely addition to my day and I had at least one of each of the vitality and calm blends each day alongside my food.

So, how did it taste?

I’m a bit of a pancake fan so the breakfast pancakes toasted up and served with one of my fruit portions was a great way to start the day.

I found the 12 main meals I received for lunch and dinner a mixed bag. Some meals were really tasty and I enjoyed them whilst others I wasn’t so keen on. My favourite meals were the Shepherds Pie and Meatball dishes which were packed with flavour.

The snacks and desserts were also tasty too but I did find the apple compote texture a bit like baby food so I tended to add it to my pancakes rather than eat it alone.

The pre-portioned nature of the DietBon meals did make me realise that my portion control isn’t great. I added green veggies to the majority of the Dietbon meals to bulk them out a bit but towards the end of the week my stomach had shrunk a bit and the smaller size portions didn’t feel so small!

Also included with your Dietbon plan is a monthly call with a registered dietician. The call is very helpful to explain the plan plus to help you plan for your free day.

How much did I lose?

Eating the Dietbon plan strictly for 6 days and eating out on my 7th day (which included a generous slice of homemade cake to celebrate my friend’s pregnancy announcement) I lost 2.5lb in one week. This was actually more than I expected and a great way to kick start my weight loss.

How much does it cost?

You can order the Dietbon plan in different lengths from 1month to 4months. The price decreases the longer the plan ranging from £76 per week down to £44 per week. Included in the cost is the monthly call with a dietician to help you keep on track and weekly group chats.

This is obviously more expensive than shopping and cooking for yourself but really you are paying for the convenience of the pre-portioned diet and the reassurance that the food you are eating is healthy and nutritious.

I have an offer for my readers! For any order of the Dietbon diet plan of 1, 2, 3 or 4 months and more viathis link you will also receive the 28 days detox tea Morning & Night.

Overall the Dietbon meal delivery plan does work. It is a very simple way to lose weight and you won’t feel hungry.

I was sent 1 week DietBon starter plan for review but all opinions are my own.
