Before the kids I would regularly treat myself to some beautiful blooms from my local florist to create a stunning design for my home but these days it is hard to find the time visit a proper florist, so my flower arranging tends to stop at plonking a sub standard bunch from the supermarket into a vase. I was lucky enough to receive an early Christmas present earlier this month from flower subscription box FlowerBe who use their 20 years experience in artisan floristry to curate exquisite selections of seasonal flowers delivered to your door each both for your to arrange. Oh the joy!

Humans and fire have a relationship going back beyond most people’s comprehension. This love affair has not always been a good one, fire has lifted the human race out of early foraging, but it has also killed millions and been largely taken for granted somewhere in between. But in saying all that having a real fire in our homes is something most people seem to desire. Whether it’s a visit to a friends house who has a fire blazing on a cold winters day, perhaps a holiday cottage stay or just an innate wish to have a fire the drive is there for a lot of people.

However, it is not as simple as just “getting a fire” and this is often what stops people going through with it. Surrey Fireplace experts Wakefords in Woking  said “the popularity of fires and burners just goes up and up but with it come the pitfalls of getting the wrong fire and many other issues.”   Costs, where to put it, chimneys, types of fires, surrounds and wood storage are all factors that need to be considered so here are some top tips on how to choose a fire and what the reality of having one is like.

Finding Time to Decorate when there aren't enough hours in the day title over image of painting a wall with a roller
It’s safe to say most of us could do with more hours in the day. Sometimes, it feels as though finding time to shower is a struggle, let alone tackling all the other things you need to do around the house. And, let’s be honest; there are a lot of other things higher up the to-do list than decorating. Spending time with your kids is, of course, a priority. Then, there are tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and making time for your partner. And the list goes on!

It’s no wonder, then, that many of us struggle to consider our home decoration. In fact, for some busy families, this is a task which forever falls off the radar. It isn’t unusual to simply stick to the decor which was in place when you moved in. After all, it does the job, right?

Of course, it does. But, feeling at home is essential, and you might struggle to do that with someone else's decor choices. Instead, it’s time to take control of time. Or, at least find a way to fit decoration into your life. Lucky for you, that may not be as difficult as you’re expecting. All you need to do is find ways to minimise or manage the workload. And, I've got a few suggestions which could help you do it.
