A FlowerBe Christmas

Before the kids I would regularly treat myself to some beautiful blooms from my local florist to create a stunning design for my home but these days it is hard to find the time visit a proper florist, so my flower arranging tends to stop at plonking a sub standard bunch from the supermarket into a vase. I was lucky enough to receive an early Christmas present earlier this month from flower subscription box FlowerBe who use their 20 years experience in artisan floristry to curate exquisite selections of seasonal flowers delivered to your door each both for your to arrange. Oh the joy!
FlowerBe is the brainchild of sister and brother duo Lisa and Sean. Lisa is florist royalty so I knew before I opened the box that I was going to find something special inside. FlowerBe blooms are delivered unarranged so you can use your creativity to create something unique and personal for your home. You can subscribe to one of 3 boxes: Tall, Short or Classic. I was sent the Classic box which costs £35 for a one off box or £30 per month if you opt for the full 12mth subscription.

The December Classic selection included:

  • Eucalyptus & Eucalyptus Poplar Berry
  • Mondial roses
  • Alstromeria
  • Hypericum berries
  • Narcissus
  • Ornithogalum 'Star of Bethlehem'
  • Salal

These aren't the kind of flowers you find at the petrol station, the selection is unusual and guaranteed to make a statement in your home. The stems are left long ready for you to condition and arrange in your own distinct style. Some of the stems are quite thick so you'd be best with florist scissors which have grooves or garden secateurs to help cut the thicker stems.

If the thought of arranging flowers makes you feel a little nervous do not fear! FlowerBe gives you a step by step guide to help you make the most of your flowers and develop your confidence. The magazine also includes styling ideas from interior designers for inspiration on how to create seasonal styles and some different interior design ideas.

For this review I followed FlowerBe's guide and found it very intuitive. The only issue I had was my narcissus was a bit too short for my vase so in hindsight I would pop though into a separate bud vase as there were loads of flowers so you wouldn't miss them in the main arrangement. You can purchase FlowerBe Classic box subscriptions as a one off box for £35 or as a monthly subscription starting at £30 a month.

was sent this FlowerBe box for review purposes but all opinions are my own.
