In amongst the chaos of packing for our move we paused to make my signature Carrot Cake Trifle (yes, it really is as good as it sounds) on Friday. The carrot cake was offcuts from my sister in law's wedding cake which I have in the freezer. The girls did a fab job of whisking up some cream cheese frosting to layer with the crumbled cake. Teamwork makes the dream work.

The first is Serenity Jones (who we met in the short story Where There's Smoke - read my review here) and the second is Virgil Stanhope who was originally investigating the disappearance of her mother but who is now a washed up private detective. As the trio gets closer to the truth they realise sometimes on the journey you find out more about yourself that the person you are looking for.

Husband has been away for a few days so it has just been me and these two crazy cats for the last days of the Summer holidays. We've really has a blast making the most of our Kidspass membership with lots of half price cinema trips and kids eat free meal deals. We've also been on a few road trips to visit my family before school starts and reality kicks back in.
