Review: Tobar Wooden Pixie Playset

Pixies and fairies are firm favourites in this house so Little E's eyes lit up when we received this gorgeous little wooden pixie playset from Tobar.

The playset (or play toadstool) is a self contained little play world you can pick up and take away with you. The little carry handle makes it easy to transport and the elastic toggle fastening keeps the play set firmly together whilst being easy for little hands to open. Perfect when visiting family who do not have kids toys.

Inside the toadstool are two little pixies and a variety of wooden furniture. The toadstool becomes a house with little shelves for upstairs and downstairs. The painted outside provides scenery. The pixies are wooden with felt hats and are very fun and unique. The furniture matches the design with a leaf bed and toadstool furniture. Everything is beautifully painted with a smooth finish. There is also a thick felt leaf and flower which act as the soft furnishings.

Little E loves playing with the set. She has named the pixies Pixie and Bom. So far she has been really good at putting the set away in one piece and calls it 'bedtime' for the pixies. They have got up to all kinds of antics and each time she plays they have a different adventure. Pixie is rather bossy and Bom does appear to be an under the thumb pixie husband!

This playset really encourages children to explore their imagination and independent play. Considering the high quality the price is very good value item. There are not many toys these days which are made to last but this is one of them. I can see us keeping it for Little E's children to play with.
