Review: Cow & Gate Friends

Little I is obsessed with food. If someone eats in front of her without sharing they better watch their back. We combination fed her in the beginning mixing traditional spoonled weaning with finger foods. Most of the food I made myself but I always have pouches and jars in the cupboard for when we go out or those 'the Tesco delivery in not coming until tomorrow and I only have half a celery stick in the fridge' moments.

Cow and Gate sent across some of their new Friends range to try. The pouches we received are individual vegetable purées - perfect for first tastes.

There are four veggies in the range: carrot, peas, cauliflower and broccoli and they are super smooth texture. On the pouches are the new Friends vegetable cartoon characters which are a lot of fun and they also appear on the website and advertising.

Carrot pasta save!

Little I is obviously well past first taste stage but these little pouches have been excellent way of lacking some veggie punch into her meals. I've mixed the peas into homemade fish pie, made cauliflower cheese on toast and the carrot pouch really saved me when I cooked pasta only to find I had no tomato sauce or pesto left. Carrot pasta went down a treat with Little I and her big sister!

Cow & Gate friends pouches are available from Tesco and Asda prived from 95p

Great idea mixing them with other foods for a veggie hit. Thanks for linking up with #TriedTested

There's always a place in my cupboard for pouches - I totally get what you mean about the grocery delivery not coming yet ;)
