Review: Carpet Cleaning by Carpet Bright UK

17/1/2017

We bought our beige carpet before we had kids. Massive error. In the past six years it has had taken a hammering. Juice, food and two rounds of potty training later and Husband was convinced it was beyond saving but the Carpet Cleaning Kings at Carpet Bright UK suggested we give their cleaning services a try before we take drastic measures. Here's how we got on (plus there's a special discount for my lovely readers at the end so keep reading!)
Picture
Carpet Bright UK is a family run business with an expert team of carpet cleaning technicians across Surrey, Kent and South London. I was particularly keen to try out it's carpet cleaning service as all the products used are certified safe by the Asthma and Allergy Foundation. Little I suffers from asthma so it is incredibly important the cleaning products we use are suitable for her to be around. I hadn't realised just how important a clean carpet is for her asthma condition but Carpet Bright UK's eco-friendly products remove on average 94% of common household allergens from carpets. Brilliant.

So just how bad was my carpet? Well as you can see above it was pretty grotty. We had a huge stain by the toy box which I think must be squash or juice, lots of random stains and the high traffic areas through from the kitchen and in front of the sofa were just... yuck.
Picture
Large juice stain

Lots of yucky spots of unknown origin
There was also a really random stain underneath the sofa which we ascertained was from the two metal brackets which hold the sofa together plus a lot of chocolate trodden into the carpet...
Picture
Bizarre sofa bracket stain
On a very sunny Monday morning Alvin from Carpet Bright UK came to have a go at transforming my carpets. He didn't seem phased at all by the stains and I was surprised how confident he was about the results we could get. After spraying the carpet with allergy friendly cleaning solution Alvin used a beast of a machine to pressure wash the carpets (this machine is proper, industrial size and is so big it stays outside). The beast  literally forces water through your carpet to lift the dirt whilst simultaneous sucking it away. It is this suction which leaves the carpet relatively dry after cleaning so you can start using the room again in just a couple of hours.
Picture
The next phase was to use a magic scrubbing brush on the stained areas to further break up the dirt. Then the cleaning machine was back in action on these spots to banish the nasty stains forever!

Top Alvin Tip: Don't try and treat bad stains with over the counter products - it actually makes the stain harder to fully remove!
Picture
Once the cleaning was done Alvin sprayed the carpet with a protection spray. This helps keep the dirt from soaking into the carpet so it is easier to keep it clean in the future. Alvin was such a pleasure to have in my home. He was super friendly and efficient and made it very easy to understand how the process worked.
Picture
When the clean was finished it was time to empty the water from the beast and I was quite shocked how grubby it was! All that dirt was in my carpets! Alvin said he as seen far, far worse which made me feel a little better!
Picture
I was amazed by how clean my carpets looked after Alvin had worked his magic. The huge juice stain (which was sticky so attracts even more dirt) is gone and all the smaller stains have disappeared.
Picture
Even the weird metal marks have been removed from under the sofa and overall the carpet looks so much better, especially the high traffic areas through to the kitchen and in front of the sofa. Husband could not believe the before and after photos and he now wants to get the rest of the house done! It  is also brilliant knowing the whole process is safe for Little I's asthma. Overall a huge thumbs up for Carpet Bright UK from us!

Yes i do agree that bad stains should not be tried or treated with the counter products, it really makes the stain harder to fully remove! I have experienced this issue. Thank you for sharing this!

I hired this company based on good reviews. The cleaner was polite and friendly. The time he signed in and out was 1 hour and 40 minutes to clean 4 rooms. During this time I sat in a room which did not need cleaning. I had to find him an extension lead, he asked me numerous questions, engaged me in conversation and took a personal phone call. The actual cleaning time was 50 minutes maximum. The 2 rooms which were dirty did not look any different once the carpets were dry. I sent customer services photos, but they told me they were stains and could not be removed, or it was a natural part of the cleaning process and once vacuumed they would disappear, which DID NOT work. I borrowed a friends basic home carpet cleaner to remove the dirt. I sent photos of after they had cleaned to show how dirty the carpets were and after I had cleaned to show the difference. I only requested 50% refund which I thought was more than fair but only then after many conversations emailing they said that they would have sent someone back to clean again, which was never mentioned in previous emails. They chose to ignore the fact that even though time the cleaner signed in and out was 1 hour 40 minutes which they said was plenty of time to clean 4 rooms, that the actual cleaning time was only 40-50 minutes as I had to find him an extension lead, he took a personal phone call and stood at the doorway of the room I was sitting in engaging me in conversation and asking numerous questions.I paid £144 for absolutely NOTHING. I am a widowed mother of one and struggling with money and the service I received was terrible. They just didn't care at all.

I am really sorry to hear you had such a negative experience Tracey. It sounds like the complete opposite of my experience unfortunately.

I also got a poor service with two holes made in the carpet while addressing acrylic paint spots and rejection of responsibility from customer services. Like Tracey I chose them on the basis of the excellent reviews. However, I am almost certain now that they are not real - all 5-star and the nuances of grammar are all very similar. £138 for 1.5 hours inside the flat, a very superficial clean, plus free holes. Very poor show.

Hi Simon, I am really sorry to hear that you have also had a bad experience. I can assure you my review above is genuine and based on the service I received. My carpet cleaned up really well as you can see in the photos. I would never write a false review.

After reading your review, we booked with this company. The guy that came to us was a miracle worker. He removed a stain from my carpet that had been there for 3 years. Funny thing is that I get my carpets cleaned yearly but first time I’ve used Carpet Bright UK and they were the only company to remove this stain. 100% recommend, thank you x

I used Carpet Bright and they done such a great job of my carpets in my new home. I really couldn't believe the difference, there were quite a few stubborn stains from the previous owners and they managed to remove them all. I would definitely use them again and would 100% recommend them!!

Our advanced carpet cleaning technology, solutions, and methods provide a deeper clean with a difference you can see. Many carpet cleaning companies focus on the surface with a quick clean that won't remove stubborn dirt and soil. But that's not what you will get with our Carpet Cleaner NYC Trained Technician.
