What do you get the man who has everything and needs nothing? That is the eternal dilemma I face each Father's Day. My Dad is a man of few possessions and he doesn't hold much value to 'stuff'. Not only do I give myself a headache looking for a unique, thoughtful gift for him I also have to find one for Husband from the girls and Father-in-law. Here are a few things I have found which I think would make excellent, unusual gifts this Father's Day. Chef Dad Has your Dad been watching a bit too much Masterchef and thinks he's John Torode in the kitchen? These fab colourful Kuhn Rikon all in one spatula knives will help him look the part. They have a super sharp blade one side for chopping veggies, herbs, fruit and more and a dull spatula edge on the other so you can scrape or scoop your food straight to pan or plate. They come with silicone blade guards to help avoid injuries when not in use. Set of 2 Kuhn Rikon Cut, Scoop and Scrape knives (purple or green) £13.56 qvcuk.com Foodie Dad Or maybe your Dad prefers the eating to the cooking? If so the wonderful pates from Patchwork Pate have won over 80 taste awards and their Quiet Night In hamper makes the perfect present for Father's Day. The hamper contains pate, chutney, spelt crackers and a bottle of beer or cider. You can choose different varieties of each item to suit your Dad's palette. I love this idea because Husband hates beer so having the option to switch to cider is perfect. All the pates are delicious so choosing between them is a tough task! Quiet night in hamper from £15.60 patchwork-pate.co.uk Adrenaline Dad If your a Dad likes to get the adrenaline flowing why not book him a session at F1 simulation centre Let's Race! Situated near Gatwick airport just off the M23, Let's Race is the UK's only full motion F1 racing car simulator. Used by professional F1 drivers, you simulate speeds of 200mph and 1.5G! Why not book for the whole family and race against each other (as it's Father's Day better let Dad win!) Prices start from £5 letsrace.co.uk Big kid Dad This category describes Husband perfectly! There is nothing he likes more than picking his favourite sweets at the cinema pick n mix... So this mini My Pick N Mix machine is guaranteed to bring a smile to his face. My Pick N Mix £9.99 theworks.co.uk DIY Dad If your Dad's a tinkerer I have a gift suggestion that will blow his mind. Sugru is an revolutionary product which feels like play dough but dries like superglue. It is perfect for all DIY jobs around the house and garden from repairing worn out cables to silencing slamming doors to modifying grips on ski poles. It sticks to almost anything and sets overnight. It is addictive stuff! Sugru from £6.99 for 3 uses sugru.com Tradesman Dad Or perhaps, like mine, your Dad makes his living with a hammer in his hand. I've lost count of the number of mobile phones he has dropped, got clogged with sawdust, driven his van over and (most recently) dropped in a bucket of water. LifeProof phone cases are virtually indestructible. They are waterproof, snowproof, dirtproof and shockproof. Perfect for Dad's like mine whose phones get a rough ride. They would also make great presents for Dad's who enjoy gardening and skiing so they can enjoy their hobbies without worrying about their phones. LifeProof cases for iPhones and Samsung Galaxy smart phones plus iPads from £59.99 lifeproof.com City Dad Husband works in London and has to wear a suit everyday. Even in the summer bless him. I know he'd love a tailor made suit and the guys over at mr-robertson.co.uk provide a service which makes Saville Row quality affordable. You design your perfect suit online and send them your measurements. They then make the suit to your specifications for a fraction of the usual bespoke price. Sounds like a winner! Bespoke shirts and suits from mr-robertson.co.uk Some of the products in this review were sent for review purposes but all opinions are my own.
