Book Review: YOU by Caroline Kepnes

It has been ages since I posted a book review which is crazy as I've read so many books lately. One that really stands out is YOU by Caroline Kepnes.
Picture
When Guinivere Beck walks into Joe's book store he is smitten. With the aid of Twitter, Facebook and a stolen phone he is able to delve deep into Beck's life, what she likes, what she thinks, where she is, enough information to make himself into the man she needs.

The trouble is Beck's true colours are a little darker than Joe expected and he has to work harder to keep her attention. So hard the game takes on a deadly turn.
The book is written in the second person, which is hard to read initially as it is not a common narrative device, but fits the storyline perfectly. You are basically inside Joe's head. A very scary place to be. But Kepnes is very clever, by making Beck's character quite unlikeable the simple stalker premise is twisted to the point where at times you find yourself routing for Joe, despite him being a sickening psychopath!

The book certain makes me think about of how much of our lives we put online. As a blogger I'm definitely guilty of this! And whilst some of the lengths Joe goes to to find out information about Beck are at times extreme, they are plausible. Scary.

You will either love or hate this book. Be prepared for extremely offensive and sexually explicit language. If you can stomach it then it is a fantastically obsessive, dark read. I can't wait to read the follow up Hidden Bodies which has just been published.

Overall 4.5/5

Infertility is not something any woman is supposed to go through in life. I will therefore recommend that you read this. I'm Sarah Weston. I'm from Wisconsin, USA. Married for 11 years with infertility, my infertility journey has ended with the help of Lord Krish Spiritual. I have joined many infertility journey blogs online, and did IVF for 2 years. I searched for solutions to my problem and never relented which has helped me to find the right connection to help me cure this devastating problem. As a patient of endometriosis stage 3, it was really difficult to have a child but with the help of Lord Krish, I got fertile and conceived within days of the herbal treatment which he sent to me through DHL and before I knew it, my womb was opened and I conceived and was finally pregnant with twins babies. I never believed it was possible after 11 years of marriage. I gave birth to twins, Dale and Diane. I want to say thank you to Lord Krish and to everyone who has helped me both mentally and emotionally through this journey. Lord Krish solved my problem for me and I promised him to manifest his work to other people and friends. His Email to reach out to him is ([email protected])
