Bedroom Design Ideas for Pre-School Girls

Our house is on the market and I've been daydreaming of the possibility of our new home and how I want to decorate our kids bedrooms. They both have such unique personalities and I want to express that in their new bedrooms. Today I've been thinking about our youngest, there year old Little I, and how her new bedroom could look in our new family home. Here are my top ideas for pre-school girls' bedroom design.

The Storage

Little I has so many toys it is unreal. Storage has to be a key consideration right at the beginning of her room design. I love modular storage with it's clean lines and ease of use. These roll-out six cube units from Aspace are great because not only can you move them around but you can put little doors on to hide all the toys inside. The top also provides a little shelf to display trinkets and photos.

Books are also a problem. When Little I removes books from her current bookshelf they all fall over and then she can't put them back properly. They end up stacked up haphazardly or on the floor looking a mess. This sling style bookcase from The Great Little Trading Co. is a perfect design allowing her to access her books with ease and, importantly, replace them easily too

The Decoration

Little I is obsessed with the colour orange so we definitely need to incorporate it into her room décor  but I'm not a massive fan! So I want to keep the orange subtle. This amazing forest themed range from Esprit is absolutely perfect because it incorporates lots of orange in a fun design. The owls, foxes and birds are simply adorable and perfect for her age. The range includes bold wallpaper, ideal for an accent wall, a subtle contrasting paper for the rest of the room, a nonwoven textile border and matching curtains. This design is sure to get a huge thumbs up from the smallest member of the household!

The Furniture

Sticking to the white theme to match the storage units, I love this white sleigh bed from Noa & Nani which has a beautiful curved shape and is made from solid wood so it is strong and durable. The perfect place for sleepy little dreamers.

The shape of this 'Victoria' kids wardrobe from 123 Furniture echos the curves of the sleigh bed and has a draw at the bottom for additional storage. The matching chest of drawers and bedside table complete the furniture for the room.

The Details

This owl print by Caro Pratt Studio is unusual and so cute. It will complement the forest themed wallpaper perfectly and appeal to Little I's love of all things orange.

And no little girl's room is complete without some fairy lights. I love these Sugar Plum Fairy LED fairy lights from Button Owl Design which would look beautiful wrapped around the headboard of the bed or draped along the curtain rail.
