This week Little I has really been exploring. She is so eager to get hold of illegal gadgets such as the remote control, iPad or our phones. They are the holy grail. She has become very stable sitting up but chucks herself backwards when she has had enough and wants some attention. I know her game so I pile pillows behind her. She sussed this and started throwing herself forwards instead - only to face plant on her plastic toys. A few tears later and we are back to throwing ourselves backwards! We went to Drusilla's zoo in Sussex and I caught some sneaky Daddy time snaps. She wasn't all that impressed being stuck in the pram around the zoo but she did like the picnic lunch! Food is still the most exciting part of her day. She is really interacting with us now and for the first time she shouted at Little E when she took her bread away. It was very clearly a 'give it back!' scream meant for her and it surprised us all. She certainly knows what she wants. Sleep this week has been amazing, wonderful, brilliant... We even got 12hrs straight 2 nights in a row! But she is still being cheeky and refusing to drink from the bottle which is starting to frustrate us all a bit. Linking up to #pocolo at vevivos.com

The Half Life of Hannah by Nick Alexander 38yr old Hannah, her husband Cliff and son Luke are on a family holiday in France when old secrets surface threatening their stable, predictable life back home. This book was something and nothing. The storyline is weak with an even weaker main character. I couldn't feel empathy or sympathy for her and I just wanted her to stop moaning! The ending needs serious reworking. Overall very disappointing and I won't be racing to try his other books. Just discovered a sequel - I think I'll just find a summary on Good Reads and leave it to that! 2/5 Where There's Smoke by Jodi Picoult This short story introduces the character of Serenity Jones, a genuine psychic with her own hit TV show. But riding high gets the better of her and she suffers a very public fall from grace when she upsets her spirit guides and to make matters worse she has angered a poltergeist... This free story is perfectly crafted and hooks you into the character, building the story of Serenity, leaving you eager to find out what happens next... Which of course you can in her next full length book! Lol! I will definitely be buying that one. Very well written. 4/5 For Book Club I am still reading my choice of book The Girl Who Saved The King of Sweden by Jonas Jonasson On iBooks I am reading The Alchemist's Secret by Scott Marinari On the Kindle app I am reading A Reason to Kill by Michael Kerr This post is linked to #ThisMonthIRead with mutteringmummy.wordpress.com #readwithme at mamamummymum.co.uk #triedtested with myfamilyfever.co.uk and goingonanadventure.co.uk and AllAboutYou with mama-andmore.com Our little girl went into her big girl bed this week after 3wks of terrible night waking. And it worked! She has settled really well and is only waking once in the night for a feed now. Obviously she was feeling squished on her bedside cot. Mummy feels like new woman! Naps are also falling into a regular pattern. She gets tired at around 10.30am and sleeps for a couple of hours. Then in the afternoon she has a quick power nap in the car/pram or on Mummy's lap. So generally a lot more settled this week now we aren't sleep deprived! But we did get the results of her barium X-ray back and she does have a sliding hiatus hernia. We have to see a surgeon but hopefully if things stay settled she'll just need monitoring. She is now eating 3 meals a day, avoiding any acidic foods which may give her heartburn. The omeprazole anti reflux medication seems to be helping so we are going to continue with it.
