Little I continues to interact with us more and more. She loves to chat and coo. She gets very excited when Little E sits down with her and they natter away together making no sense at all. If you ignore her she starts getting cross making huffing, bleating noises until you resume eye contact and tickle her under her chin which makes her smile. She is showing lots of interest in her toys and gets very excited kicking about. She has even grabbed at a them a few times catching the bee and shaking him about. The enthusiasm means she manages to shimmy around the playmat from the force of her kicking. We tried tummy time again with slightly better results. She hates being put directly faced own onto her playmat but she tolorates the Lamaze spinner for five minutes at a time. Little E gets a bit overexcited and tries to spin her like a roundabout so close supervision is required! We love the Lamaze range and we tried out her new hand and foot finder set which we enjoyed but a Little I seems rather indifferent to at the moment. In the picture you can see she is wearing a fantastic Baby Baker babygrow we received as a gift when she was born. I have been dying for her to wear and it finally fits! It is my favourite outfit and it gets so many compliments when we are out. Sleep continues to be reasonable but she does seem to want to go into her deep, night sleep about 7pm which is a little early for me to go to bed. I've been trying a dream feed around 10pm to try and top her up so I get a few hours before she wakes hungry but it has been hit and miss. The knock on effect of this early evening sleeping is that she is more awake (and somewhat grumpy) the next day, refusing to have a proper sleep until late afternoon some days. She is feeding a lot more efficiently now though with an average feed lasting about 20minutes. Visitors this week included Great-Uncle Steve who thought she looked just like Mummy and cousin Dani who was very taken with her and enjoyed lots of snuggle cuddles. We also visited Bestie's beautiful new house and Little I slept through the housewarming lunch on a beanbag with Woody for company. There are 4 different designs and Little E received the Princess castle design. The kits contains pictorial instructions, an elastic cord and a series of pre-painted wooden beads plus the main princess themed bead. The instructions were very easy to follow and all Little E needed from me was a little guidance on how to alternate the bead colours and keep the castle in the centre of the bracelet. A quick knot closed up the bracelet and it was instantly wearable. Little E was very pleased with her new jewellery and enjoyed making it herself. She now wants the whole set! I'll definitely be ordering them for her next birthday party goody bags. Princess wooden bracelet kits £2.99 for pack of 4 or £11.20 for pack of 16 from kids craft specialists www.bakerross.co.uk This post is linked to #letkidsbekids linky at www.letkidsbekids.co.uk and #minicreations linky at www.kidglloves.com We are proud to be part of the Baker Ross blogger network! Sharing a photo of me with my girls this week. Little I is fast asleep on my shoulder (her favourite spot) and Little E is imitating with her dolly who now has to do everything Little I does doing including nappy changes, breastfeeding and napping. It is very cute! I dug borders everywhere and spent hundreds of pounds on plants to fill them. Fast forward a year and hours of weeding later and lots of my plants hadn't grown any bigger due to the terrible soil in our garden. I was a little disheartened but I plodded on regardless. Then I got pregnant with my first and the garden took a back seat for a while. Last summer I was newly pregnant again and decided to have a bit of a sort out in the garden preempting my lack of energy towards the end of pregnancy and non existent time once the baby arrived. Realising the borders were rubbish for my plants I dug up some of the shrubs which weren't thriving and stuck them in pots full of nutrient rich fresh soil. One of the shrubs was a Camellia which in four years hadn't grown much more than an inch. I left the pots on my sunny patio and immediately forgot about them for the rest of my pregnancy. Yesterday I was sitting eating lunch with the baby, looking out into the patio and I noticed something colourful on the Camellia. It took me a minute to comprehend what it was... A flower! In fact the whole plant had at least tripled in size over the past year! I immediately snapped this shocking quality iphone photo to capture the historic moment for fear of the 3yr old discovering and destroying the precious flower I had been waiting 5yrs to see. This is an example of how critical the quality of the soil is to plants. Really my borders need digging out and feeding with proper soil as they are basically made up of clay. Now I've noticed my garden again I can't wait to find some time to get out there and pay it some attention. Linking up to How Does Your Garden Grow? #HDYGG over at mammasaurus.co.uk |
