If you have been following my Home series over the past few months you know I have spent a lot of time dreaming about how to improve my home. I thought it was time to share with you some of my favourite finds across the web which I would adore to have in my house. In this post I am focusing on my open plan downstairs which consists of living, dining and kitchen areas which flow together in an L shape. Recliner Sofa Starting in our living area. We made a massive error when buying our sofa 5 years ago. We definitely should have got a recliner to properly relax on when watching TV or reading a book in the evenings. We also should have got leather which can be wiped clean! A must with two kids in the house. There are a fantastic range of leather recliner sofas at Fishpools and I've got my eye on the Alpina electric motion sofa in a beautiful, modern grey leather *swoons* Curved Floor Lamp I love to read on the sofa in the evenings so I need a lamp. A curved floor lamp arcing over the sofa looks sophisticated and gives the perfect reading light or if you have guests some mood lighting. This version from World Stores is a bargain at £89.99. Extending Dining Table Linking our living and kitchen is the dining area. We've had our dining table for nearly ten years and it has done well but taken a right battering since the kids have come along. There are two things I need to change about our dining table. We need to ditch the glass top as it is murder to clean and it needs to extend so we can accommodate more people when entertaining. There are different size extending dining tables available at very reasonable prices from Oak Furniture Land. I'm wishing for a 5ft table which extends to 7ft by sliding open the top of the table and placing extra panels in the centre like magic! Dining Chairs So I've found a new table but what about the chairs. Well ours are currently fabric covered. Complete no-no when feeding children lasagne. So I need wooden chairs which I can wipe clean. I am in love with these brightly coloured wooden chairs from Dunelm. They come in pink or blue and would match my turquoise feature room perfectly while livening up the dining area. Barista Style Coffee Machine Moving onto the kitchen area, Husband is desperate for a proper coffee machine. These things are big and cost the same as a sofa in some cases, so they count as kitchen furniture! I know nothing about coffee but the model he is coveting looks like something you find in Starbucks... This DeLonghi coffee maker looks like something which would actually fit in our kitchen and surely it must be good as it costs over £800! KitchenAid Artisan Stan mixer There is only one piece of kitchen furniture I want. A KitchenAid. I'm thinking of insisting on one for my 40th birthday in lieu of a party. Only 5yrs to wait... This purple KitchenAid sets my heart a flutter and it is half the price of the coffee maker so in relative terms cheap! This is a collaborative post Linking up to #BloggerClubUK and #TwinklyTuesday

We have just replaced our leather sofa with a new leather sofa (still in the young kids phase so no fabric yet) and I do know what you mean about how nice a recliner would be as it can feel a little too regimented in an evening.

I have a kitchen aid mixer and it is awesome you should get one, mine is about 8 years old and still perfect. I also couldn't live without a coffee machine, we have the Nespresso as we got lazy, but it can be expensive buying the pods for it. Great post, I am linked after you also about interior design. #bloggerclubUK

This is a great home furniture list you provided! I love the recliner sofa you listed, especially since it has an excellent modern design that can fit any home. I heard that Minotti-styled furniture also has that kind of design where it looks modern yet classy and can fit into any home. I'm sure they also have recliner sofa designs; what do you think about Minotti?

I completely understand the desire for a comfortable and practical recliner sofa, especially with young children in the house. The Alpina electric motion sofa in a modern grey leather from Fishpools sounds like a fantastic choice, both in terms of style and functionality. It's great to see that you are taking the time to carefully select furniture that will not only enhance your home's aesthetic but also make your daily life more comfortable and convenient.
