We have been Halloween pillaging this morning in our local town of Reigate. It has become an annual event to support the fantastic charity Loveworks who work with vulnerable people in the local community from the hungry to the elderly. The event is simple. You get dressed up in your spookiest Halloween garb and take along donations for the Loveworks food bank. In exchange you get a pillaging bag which you fill with sweets from the shops displaying black and orange balloons outside. Our two little witches donated the ingredients for a tuna pasta bake: dried pasta bows, tinned tuna, tinned sweetcorn and a white sauce packet mix. In exchange they filled their bags to the brim with sweet treats. We avoided Reigate Martial Arts Stairway of Terror this year as Little E is still rather traumatised by the experience last year! Little I was hilarious getting super exited every time she spotted some balloons scoffing her sweets between shops like she thought they were to going to disappear! The highlight for Husband and I had to be the Monty Bojangles truffle which we quickly confiscated from the kids buckets, for safety reasons of course... Such a great community activity for a great cause. We can't wait to do it all again next year.
